One of the greatest things about the Honduran people is their brilliant sense of humor and special talent for phrasing things. I guess it’s something that has evolved out of necessity. Otherwise, how does one cope with so much daily struggle? I came across this photo of an Honduran protester holding up a sign addressed to Juan Orlando Hernández. It reads:
JOH, you say that the people elected you. Why don’t you come out to the streets to receive our affection.
That’s just delicious. It’s classic Honduran, and it is perhaps the sharpest question that can be asked, because it reveals the extreme moral weakness of Mr. Hernández’s case at this moment and the fragility of his position.
