Let’s talk history first

If you get the history of vaccination and infectious disease wrong, then you’ll get the science of both wrong as well. That may be the central problem in this debate. Two different histories are being recalled and told. So let’s talk history, and then we might be able to agree on the science. Otherwise, there’s not much point of it, because we’re starting out with two different sets of facts and assumptions. We’re destined to have a massive misunderstanding. (Note that one of the things that has struck me most in my conversations with people throughout my life is how pathetically poor is their knowledge of history, language, and geography.)
