Go back to school Mike

So, I think one of the problems with many of our political leaders, when it comes to their knowledge of history, is that they’re just plain ignorant. I’ll give you a good example. VP Mike Pence recently said, “In President Donald Trump, the United States once again has a president whose vision, energy and can-do spirit is reminiscent of President Teddy Roosevelt.” Yeah, I get his point. Teddy did some good things. So did Andrew Jackson, to whom Don John frequently likes to compare himself. But anyone who understands the totality of who Roosevelt and Jackson were would surely not want to be compared to them. These were not exactly good individuals when it comes to their views about their fellow human beings. Roosevelt thought of white Americans as the “forward race” and minorities as the “backward race.” Of Native Americans, Roosevelt said, “I don’t go so far as to think that the only good Indians are dead Indians, but I believe nine out of ten are, and I shouldn’t like to inquire too closely into the case of the tenth.” Uh, Mike, pick up a book, man.
