Heroin: that “perfect guardian of health”

When someone regurgitates to you the mantra that “vaccines are safe and effective,” just smile and tell ’em, “Yeah, and did you know that in the early 1900s heroin was promoted by pharmacists because it was believed to ‘clear the complexion, give buoyancy to the mind, regulate the stomach and the bowels,’ and was, in fact, considered to be a ‘perfect guardian of health.'” My, how science does have a way of being wrong sometimes. Just sayin’
