The bogus fear of measles

By the time the first measles vaccine was introduced in the United States in 1963, the death rate from measles had already dropped by about 98 percent. So the idea that if we stopped vaccinating for measles children would be dying left and right is a fantasy. People do not commonly die of measles in the US and other industrialized countries because of the availability of good sanitation and nutrition and basic healthcare. Uh, it’s not because of the vaccine. The scare tactics employed by media reporters, doctors, public health officials, and legislators to create public fear of measles are bogus and reprehensible.
