Two of the guys Dopey Donald is considering for senior positions in his administration are former Goldman Sachs’ partner Steve Mnuchin for Secretary of Treasury and current Goldman Sachs COO Gary Cohn for director of the Office of Management and Budget.
Now, keep in mind that banking giant Goldman Sachs defrauded investors of billions of dollars worth of mortgage-backed securities during the years leading up to the US financial crisis in 2007. You remember that crisis, right? It was the mess that George W. Bush and his people left us holding the bag with and the Obama administration had to spend eight years sweeping up after to stabilize the country.
In January 2016, Goldman Sachs disclosed that it had agreed to pay the US government $5 billion related to its role in the financial crisis. So is Goldman Sachs part of the swamp? And if it is, then why is there any consideration to allowing this swamp creature to be put in charge of the swamp?
Business people are part of the swamp too, you know. In fact, it is they who facilitate the corruption of the politicians, because it is they who have the cash and the special interests. Now, they have the gall to claim to be our saviors? Laugh, laugh, laugh.
