The idea that the wealthy create jobs, sustainable ones at least, and that thus reducing taxes on the rich is the best sure fire way to stimulate job creation and economic growth in an economy, because those extremely well off individuals will invest these savings in job creation enterprises is a myth… just like the mainstream myth of “herd immunity” in the debate on vaccines. Now don’t get me wrong, I love myth as much as the next person. Myths are a tremendous source of entertainment and even truth. But not factual truth. And they’re not particularly entertaining when it means that an already privileged class is given a pass to shirk its financial responsibility to the nation for the sake of becoming even more privileged.
