Stupid science

So you have a pregnant woman in Brazil who consumes alcohol, takes drugs, is severely malnourished, and is exposed to high concentrations of chemicals. She gives birth to a baby with microcephaly (shrunken head). Doctors test the woman for Zika virus infection. She tests negative. The doctors conclude the microcephaly must’ve been caused by all the toxic crap she consumed, injected into herself, breathed in, as well as her deficient diet—all of which deprived the fetus of what it needed for healthy brain development.

Another pregnant Brazilian woman comes along. She too consumes alcohol, takes drugs, is severely malnourished, and is exposed to high concentrations of chemicals. She gives birth to a baby with microcephaly. Doctors test the woman for Zika virus infection. She tests positive. “Aha!” say the doctors. “The dreaded Zika is the culprit! We knew it!” The doctors conveniently overlook all the toxic crap the woman consumed, injected into herself, breathed in, as well as her deficient diet. This is the kind of “science” mentality we’re dealing with here.
