Dear W. Ian

This guy W. Ian Lipkin claims to be “among those” Robert De Niro and his Tribeca Film Festival team consulted about the film Vaxxed. W. Ian says so in an article published in The Wall Street Journal colorfully (and predictably) titled, “Anti-Vaccination Lunacy Won’t Stop.” It’s worth a read, if you have time… kind of like Teen Vogue or Seventeen are worth reading if you’re seated waiting for a dentist appointment and there’s absolutely nothing else on the table beside you.

W. Ian writes: “In a 45-minute phone conversation with him, I recommended that the festival withdraw the film from the ‘documentary’ category and not screen it.” W. Ian’s rationale behind his recommendation is that Vaxxed “mentions none” [of the facts and details about how Dr. Andrew Wakefield’s 1998 MMR/autism paper and how it was “dubunked” and the UK General Medical Council revoked Dr. Wakefield’s medical license. Yada yada yada…

W. Ian writes: “A film that distorts and omits established facts is not a documentary, and any venue screening it is complicit in knowingly misrepresenting science and disseminating misinformation.”

Hmm, well, there’s a good reason for that W. Ian. THE MOVIE IS NOT ABOUT THAT! It’s about fraud at the CDC. You know, the CDC whistleblower, Dr. William Thompson? You know, that CDC study that has been used to “yet again” prove that there is no causal relationship between the MMR vaccine and autism? You know, the study in which the CDC manipulated the findings by simply tossing out data that didn’t conform to its original hopes and expectations?

Yeah, that.
