Government and Taxes

The government would not be able to function without the taxpayer, and taxpayers would not exist without opportunities for employment — most of which are created by private companies, big and small. And these companies would not be able to operate efficiently and compete effectively without the government providing many key public services. It’s a three-way partnership, and that is the point that Obama is trying to make. The problem is that a perception is being fed by some that government and taxes are evil, and to support either is akin to socialism. The truth is that both Democrats and Republicans support government and taxes. The difference between the two lies mainly in how each prefers to spend taxpayer money and what economic class within society should bear the weight of taxation. It’s about emphasis and burden of responsibility.
