Few people that I know or with whom I’ve associated would say they do not want “change” in Honduras. However, very few people that I’ve encountered in my five decades of living, traveling, partying, and working in Honduras actually do very much to help change the status quo in the country. People are busy just trying to make a living and care for their families and stay safe and mind their own business. I understand this. I also understand that this is a problem… because minding one’s own business simply helps to perpetuate the status quo. There is a lot of change going on within Honduras. One of the keys is to tie all these efforts together into some sort of comprehensive and integrated strategy and long-term vision for the country. That is precisely what is all about. I have absolutely no desire to destroy my native country. I also know that by doing nothing to change the status quo, the country is on the road to destruction.
