There exists a tendency to ignore the plight of the poor in Honduras. I am seeing a similar tendency to ignore or belittle the thousands of people who have consistently been protesting in the streets of Honduras. I think it is important not to underestimate the growth of this movement. This is no longer about Mr. Zelaya, but rather about how Honduran society is going to find the will and the way to reconcile before this conflict morphs into something bigger, more disturbing, and more destabilizing.
