I have no doubt that the O.A.S. would like to see Honduras become a stronger, healthier and more just democracy. The question is, “What is the best path to achieve this?” Creating chaos and ignoring every major governmental institution as if they were totally irrelevant is not the way. What I have observed is that a huge part of Honduras’ population is strongly opposed to President Zelaya’s way. That segment is every bit as legitimate as those who support Mr. Zelaya. They are also part of “El Pueblo”. President Zelaya is not the president of Honduras’ poor. He is the president of all of Honduras.
