I think dissent is the basis of democratic societies, and see this as a good thing. I think that most people in Honduras tend to agree on the central problems and the importance of effectively addressing them. I think that where there is disagreement is on the strategy. I think that what is crucial right now is to unite the country FIRST… and deal with the anger and distrust that seems to be growing. Without this, we will never really have the means to deal with the problems that the Honduran people face every day, and we’ll be talking about the same stuff 20 years from now. This is the way it has been since I was a child… and before. The essential problem is the way we talk to and engage each other.
